Mansion Sportsbook

I just made my biggest bet ever.

"Pittsburgh Steelers 2006 Superbowl Champs Promotion

Simply visit the MANSION Sportsbook and place a minimum Point Spread (Handicap) bet of USD 1,100 to win USD 1,000 (or currency equivalent) on the Pittsburgh Steelers for their game on Thursday 7 Sep 2006. (00:30 GMT 8 Sep 2006)

If your bet is not a winner, MANSION will refund your losses of USD 1,100 (or currency equivalent). "

I signed up for Mansion through pokersavvy.com for an extra $90 bonus.

Good luck!

WTF?! So you either win $1000, or lose nothing? That's crazy! Maybe I should get in on this, too. Does this mean your $1100 is tied up until after Sept 7th?

Thanks for signing up at PokerSavvy with my link, BTW!

Yeah your money will be tied up until after the 7th. If the steelers lose, you won't get the money back most likely until the 10th.

You can also hedge the bet by betting on the Dolphins at some other sportsbook.

Check out what I posted on PSO:

Aren't you a little worried that they will screw you somehow (if Pittsburgh doesn't cover)? Or say they'll give you your $1000 back at the end of the season or something?

How have you rationalized the "if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is" rule?

I want to do it, but I'm scared! :)

Mansion has deep pockets. They may sound like a new poker room, but they have been a big sportsbook for a while now. I would also assume that they have their own hedges/insurance/whatever that makes it so they aren't truly plunking down 1k per person.

Do I trust they will pay the 1k if the Steelers win? Yes

Do I trust they will refund the $1100 if the Steelers lose? Yes

The only thing I would potentially be weary of is that they do have the right to pull the promotion. This is the one thing holding me back from putting in a hedge at another sportsbook right away. You would get your money back and the bet would be called off but you would have to hope there is a way to cancel your wager at the other sportsbook in time.

I understand your concern. Heck I'm a little scared too. My previous largest sportsbook bet was $10. They've done promos like this before for around $200 and no one on any forums I've seen had any trouble collecting.

So that's my rationale. I can also deal with the money being locked up for the next 2 weeks, which should be another factor for you. If its a big portion of your bankroll, you may not want to do that. Hope that helps put your mind at ease one way or another. Don't feel like you have to talk yourself into it. Its a lot of money and you never know, there could be a small percentage of getting screwed over. To me its a small risk for a big reward.

Good luck if you decide to go for it. Go Steelers!

Can you deposit through the Mansion poker room to get the 100% match bonus, and then transfer those funds right away to the sportsbook? That would be awesome, even though I'd probably never play enough poker to clear the $1000 bonus, it looks like it's released in increments.

Do you know if this $1100 promotional bet clears the requirements for the savvy points?

I'm not sure about the 100% poker bonus. I deposited directly through the web site. In the cashier there is a line for poker bonus but it is listed as $0 for me. You'll have to ask Mansion support. They do have as part of the promotion that your second deposit is a 50% deposit bonus.

The PokerSavvy bonus is cleared either by doing $10 in rake in the poker room or $50 wagering in the sportsbook. I'm not sure if they will consider this promotional bet for the wagering. I am planning to do the poker room a little anyway. It should only be a couple hundred raked hands at .5/1 or 1/2 I think. Hopefully the Steelers win and then wagering an extra $50 if need be is just a drop in the bucket :)

I'm trying to figure out how to make a deposit without clearing the Mansion bonus but still get the 900 Savvy points

If you used the Savvy bonus code when you deposit $1100 will it not make you clear the Mansion 100% 1st deposit bonus?

The 100% first deposit bonus is only good on poker and the casino. There is no deposit bonus for the sportsbook.

Pokersavvy requires $50 wagered in the sportsbook or $10 in rake at the sportsbook to get the $90 bonus. I don't know if this $1100 bet will count or not for the requirement. The 100% deposit bonus at Mansion has nothing to do with the $90 bonus at Pokersavvy.

Sorry if that doesn't help. I'm not entirely sure what you're asking.

Pokersavvy has already credited me with the bonus! Woo! The one steelers bet clears the requirement it seems.

It is also now confirmed that this deposit does make you eligible for the poker deposit bonus. The deposits are not separate for the poker room/casino/sportsbook.

Sorry for the confusing comment from me.
I was thinking of casino bonuses that you must meet a WR before you can cashout your own $.

Do you know if the poker/casino bonus release all at once or in incriments?

No problem Gold.

In the poker room, the bonus releases in $10 increments. You have to get 6 mansion points per $1 of bonus.

Points are as follows:
$0.50 rake = 0.25 points
$1.00 rake = 0.50 points
$2.00 rake = 0.75 points
$3.00 rake = 1 point

Small stakes will probably be about 24 raked hands per $1 bonus. At higher stakes you can get up to 6 raked hands per $1 bonus.

The casino bonus is given after you wager (Deposit Amount plus Bonus) x 10.

Also some games don't count 100%. Blackjack clears only 10% of your wager per hand. The larger casino bonuses look like they are going to take a long time to clear this way.

Check Mansion's promotion page for full details if you're still unsure.
